The shopping center at Tryon and Kildaire Farm roads is long overdue for a makeover, and developer Zapolski + Rudd has been working on a plan to reenergize the center for almost two years now. As we&#39;ve previously reported, the new plans call for a larger Whole Foods store, office space, residential units and a hotel.</p><p>This building being torn down in the picture is off of Kildaire Farm Road and used to be a medical office. It is being removed to make way for a new Wachovia bank. Demolition of the existing Wachovia will begin in December, and that will clear the way for the new Whole Foods.
