ethanperry - please refrain from making unfounded attacks. The NC SBOE would catch that as would the FEC. I am sure memebers of Duke Power support him and perhaps he has his campaign tuned in very well into NC and is getting a lot of money from a large group of people (shown in his FEC release a few days ago.)

Better question is why hasn't Perdue paid back her husband for the loan from 2004.

McCain rides his wives' jet and catches flack, Perdue doesn't pay her loans and nothing is really said.

McCrory doesn't loan his campaign money because people wanted him to run. Your attacks are baseless.

McCrory doesn't need to loan his campaign money. He has Duke Energy backing him. If Bill Clinton was Slick Willie, Pat must be Slick Mac,
or Slick Big Mac.

How much have gubernatorial candidates loaned their campaigns?

Here's a quick guide to the amount of money each of the major candidates have loaned their campaigns, according to campaign finance reports filed with the State Board of Elections.

Figures are for the total loans still outstanding.

Democrats

Richard Moore: $1.25 million

Beverly Perdue: $905,000*

Republicans

Fred Smith: $2.4 million

Bill Graham: $1.6 million

Bob Orr: $20,000

Pat McCrory: $0

* Includes $275,000 outstanding loan from her husband, Robert Eaves Jr., for her race for lieutenant governor in 2000.
