Gov. Easley needs to maintain neutrality throughout the remainder of the nomination race because if the Democrats wind up being deadlocked at their national convention in Denver this summer, the party may have to consider alternative presidential possibilities.

What better alternative choice for President than Mike Easley, who could unite supporters of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, fellow North Carolinian John Edwards, and all the other Democratic candidates who participated in the 2008 campaign.

I wonder how many of these legislators who endorse Obama got money from his Hope PAC? I don't seen any from North Carolina listed on sourcewatch.org's chart, but that is only listing the ones he paid in the early primaries.

Obama's been using it to pay off superdelegates too. Google the Hope PAC and see what you get. Interesting.

No word yet on Gov. Mike Easley's presidential endorsement.

At today’s press conference of state lawmakers endorsing Barack Obama, a reporter asked whether any of them had heard from the famously reclusive governor on his endorsement.

"None of us speaks Italian, so we are unable to tell you anything at this time," quipped Sen. Tony Rand.

Easley is in Italy promoting tourism to North Carolina.
