No need to get insulting. I agree that Daily Kos suffers more than its fair share of vitriol, but it appears you've missed our kinder-gentler BlueNC.

James

PS I was tempted this morning to write the exact same comment, but challenging the Dome to stop sucking up to the Moore campaign. I'm guessing Ryan would conclude he must be doing something right if both sides are accusing him of favoritism. Now, if we could just get the Dome to stop flacking for Hillary.

:)

Again, the Perdue campaign gets a bit o free media from their friends at PPP.

Also, no where in this post does it give any indication that "people like perdue's pledge."

Of those that were aware of her "pledge", there was only a 5% bump, within the margin for the subsample I'm sure.

Why is Dome printing these claims? Not that Jay Reiff is impartial in this matter, but he's right to say that the science isn't with PPP on this one.

Instead of putting out Perdue's campaign releases, maybe you and PPP should focus on why there is such a wide variation from week to week in their polls and why PPP always chalks up these wide variations to some positive move on Bev Perdue's part.

This week it's her "pledge". A few weeks ago it was her endorsement of Obama. Neither are high-profile enough events to move the electorate 10% in one week. Any pollster or college student who has completed a research methods course knows that.

Sorry to get all DailyKos/BlueNC vitriolic on you guys, but this is ridiculous.

The folks at Public Policy Polling say that Beverly Perdue's pledge to stop negative campaigning is an instant hit.

PPP's latest numbers found that 56 percent of likely Democratic primary voters had heard that one of the candidates for governor had pledged to stop all negative campaign ads. Within that group, Perdue was the favorite of 47 percent. Richard Moore was the choice of 31 percent of that group.

PPP said the numbers for Perdue and Moore were essentially tied within the rest of those surveyed.

"The big question for Perdue though is whether she will be able to sustain the positive momentum she received from her announcement last week over the last three weeks of the campaign," wrote Tom Jensen of PPP, "especially as Richard Moore continues to hit her with negative ads that have tended to be pretty effective."
