Thomas Wright appeared before a Wake County magistrate today.</p><p>The Wilmington Democrat turned himself in to authorities following his indictment this week on charges of swindling banks, corporations and campaign contributors of more than $350,000, Thomasi McDonald reports.</p><p>Wright, 52, faces five felony charges of obtaining property by false pretenses and one felony charge of obstruction of justice. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bond, as ordered by Wake Superior Court Judge Donald W.
