Thomas Wright was indicted Monday on five charges of obtaining property by false pretenses and one charge of obstruction of justice, said District Attorney Colon Willoughby of Wake County.</p><p>The <a href="/under_the_dome/wrights_indictments">indictments</a>, by a Wake County grand jury, follows a lengthy criminal investigation into the Wilmington Democrat&#39;s use of personal and campaign money, the Charlotte Observer reports.<br /> </p><p>Investigators with the <a href="http://www.sboe.state.nc.us">State Board of Elections</a> say he used campaign money at Victoria&#39;s Secret and that he improperly persuaded a state official to help guarantee a loan. </p><p>Wright is in his eighth House term and has rebuffed calls for his resignation.
