I'm sure the honorable governor Easley and Mr. Lancaster are counting their lucky stars about now that state rep Thomas Wright is taking the heat off of them. I hope no one forgets what Easley and Lancaster want for this state but when you are lame duck I guess you can get away with stuff like this. Might hurt some in their party though.

If you get a speeding ticket it will stick and you will have to pay. It just means you can't ever go to a community college or university in North Carolina. Oh, and you have to leave your car where you were stopped, walk home and stay there for the rest of your life. [/snark]

NC Community Colleges run numerous educational programs inside prisons. These include academic, vocational and life skills programs.

On-site classroom courses for college credit are currently offered by UNC at approximately twenty-five participating North Carolina correctional facilities.

If illegal is no longer going to be illegal in North Carolina per the governor and people like Martin Lancaster, then does that mean if I get a speeding ticket then it's not going to stick because even though there is a law against speeding, well in North Carolina we just kinda overlook that little illegal stuff?

First, in this country, no immigrants are denied rights and services.

Second, the subject is illegal aliens, not immigrants.

Third, deport, this way illegals can't do what is being predicted.

Fourth, doing what is suggested and not deporting increases the chance of the threats outlined.

But about that group that cannot vote remark, check the web. Type in "voter fraud democrats" and prepare to be (sadly) shocked.

It started en masse with the drivers licenses for illegals or fill out a form. All they have to do is check a box pledging they are American citizens (they promise). If there is an audit (rare) no one is ever fined, deported, or imprisoned, their vote is simply not counted. Dornan vs Sanchez.

Democrat groups encourage this. And if an illegal is challenged all they have to do is call the ACLU who will accuse the polling representative of "racism" and sue for the illegals' right to vote, you horrible racist you. Check the ACLU website.

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying illegals students have a right to a K-12 education. If the government determines their illegality then after they and their parents are deported they shouldn't have access to the country anymore. So where does this right to an education come from?

Why is a "right to an education" law enforceable but the deportation law is not enforceable?

Also, I understand it is illegal to ask the immigration status of someone who visits a hospital. Why not just consider it an "undocumented" inquiry?

Why do our laws favor illegals and undermine our immigration laws?

This is not true. They had the right to deportation through high school. Why is it that deportation is not exercised year after year after year through government not enforcing the law and then, when the child is grown, that same government says "we have a problem here that must be addressed?" "We need to provide college for these kids.(?)" Deport early and often and this won't fester into a problem. Government, enforce the law.

There are these things called the rules of life and ownership. American citizens own America. Foreign citizens own their own countries. Unless they are invited in, foreign citizens are not allowed to live in our country.

The issue is not immigration. The issue is illegal aliens. US immigration terms: alien (a foreign national), illegal alien (a foreign national living illegally in the US).

US Immigration policy is set by OUR government.

Illegal alien influx is an attempt by foreign nations to set our immigration policy; as such, this is hostile to our sovereignty.

US immigration law is not determined by the bible. The first amendment to our constitution states Congress shall establlish no law on the basis of religion. Fortunately, witches are no longer stoned or burned. Demons don't need to be tossed out, nor are slaves required to obey their master, either.

As far as kindness to a stranger, one or a few strangers fine. 20 million who are taking advantage of a situation, no.

Lancaster defends illegal immigrant policy

Martin Lancaster, president of the state Community College System, defended a policy requiring the state's 58 campuses to admit illegal immigrants to class.

"It is not only the right law and policy, but it is the right thing to do," Lancaster said in a written statement released today.

Lancaster, who is retiring next year, said he asked the system's top lawyer to review the policy on illegal immigrants. Previously, colleges had the right to admit or deny undocumented students.

Lancaster said the colleges have operated under an open-door policy since the system's inception.
