The UNC-TV release was incorrect in stating that there are "five legally qualified Republican and Democratic candidate" Dennis Nielsen is a legally qulaified Democratic candidate. See his name on the offical Dem website. The N&O ran an article on candidate Nielsen, so UNC knows.

It is a shame that a liberal institution that recieves taxpayer funding has decided who they think are "legally qualified" candidates disregarding the State Board of Election and other newspapers that state there are THREE Democratic candidates.

Media outlets such as UNC-TV simply do not trust the public to make their own decisions and attempt tp control of the public with their own bias.

Want to know waht is wrong with NC look to the liberal bias on UNC.

Colonel Dennis Nielsen

To be fair, the UNC-TV release was careful to note that all five "legally qualified Republican and Democratic candidates" were invited to the debates because they are aimed at the primary elections.

Mike is very possibly the most enlightened in the bunch. Were it not for his flirtations with libertarian extremism, he'd be a formidable candidate.

Mr. Munger was not invited and will not appear at the debates.

This article has a huge mistake in it. It says "all five candidates... have agreed to attend." But there are not five candidates for governor. There are at least six, as Michael Munger is also running for governor.

Please N&O, check your facts and provide all the relevant information when running pieces like this, lest you appear to be displaying bias towards or against certain candidates.

A coin toss will determine who goes first.
