Ted Kennedy's Irony

Senator Ted Kennedy's cancer treatment seems to be going well for him and his family, which I urge all Americans to keep in their thoughts and prayers.

A recent report from the Hill shows that his cancer is going to remission...

Kennedy's cancer in remission

Senator Kennedy was the recipient of the best health care in world, which just happened to be the world-renowned cancer center at Duke University...

Doctor Says Kennedy's Brain Surgery Successful

I find it ironic that was is best for him is not the best for everyone...

Senator Ted Kennedy found the best of the best in health care and treatment and got immediate treatment, yet his legislation might jeopardize the very system that saved his life...

Not only that, but the Democrats are now talking about legislation that would EXCLUDE Union workers' benefits from being taxed - which utterly outrageous. That is discrimination in my opinion!

Unions’ Health Benefits May Avoid Tax Under Proposal

As far as the public option - it is hard for insurance companies to compete with a company (the US Government) that has no books to balance or bottom line to worry with as they can merely print more money as we have seen.

There is a great deal of competition for health insurance providers in NC to keep one's cost low...one just must not be lazy to shop around...

Redriver, you think we have the best health care system in the world? More like the least cost effective system in the developing world. We spend way more than any other country on health care, but we lag behind them in most measures of health. Don't take my word for it:

I can't believe someone threw out VA hospitals as an example of why we SHOULS have government healthcare. I almost had to kill the clerks at the VA in Raleigh to get them to treat my brother like a human being after he got a medical discharge in '93. One x-ray tech said he couldn't understand why any of the 75 or so people in the waiting room were complaining about the quality when "it was free". Yeah, let's all get that......

I just cannot stand the thought of the liberals fighting among themselves. Could this signify the end of times? Locusts and plagues and fire and liberals mad at one another over the levels of liberalism. And Ms. Kay just got there. Even the right wing nutcases are willing to give her some time to get settled in before running ads against her. What is the world coming to when liberala turn upon their own wretched kind?

I hope none of this Federal business about Ms. Kay will harm the excellent reputation our state leaders have enjoyed over the past few years. We don't need this kind of stuff making us look bad.

Let's hope they all make up and give us a General Motors type healthcare plan and warranty. A tune-up and check-up in one stop.

I can't wait for government healthcare. We know what a good job they have done with the VA, medicare, medicaid, social security, fanniemae, freddymac, The banking world, Gm, Chrysler, Aig, Wall street, etc.... I can surely believe their numbers since these are the same people that were looking after our interest in the past years. The same group that can't seem to balance their checkbook. Now why would anyone with one active brain cell think that any government agency could ever enhance the best healthcare system on earth? Hagan knows this and is showing to be wise in not falling for this scam.

I don't think senator Hagen wants to do away the VA, However those of us that have visited the VA have saw a goverment health care system at its worst. Everyone in the united states needs to visit one of these veterans hospitals then they would feel the full effect of goverment controlled health care.

She will do the right thing and vote for patients choice. Let EACH individual pay $25-$50 per month for generic coverage, and it MUST be paid from the individual's pocket, NOT some government program!

Tell her to vote for the AUDIT the Federal Reserve legislation also!

Moveon.org is like the lieberal progressive KKK these days...

No? Well, then let's stop saying that government health care is the great Satan and look towards providing it for everyone who wants it.

Government out of health care? Tell that to the thousands of members of the U.S. military and countless number of veterans. If Sen. Hagan is so against a public option, then I'm sure she is contemplating canceling free public health insurance for the military, destroying TRICARE and the VA, and replacing it with a for-profit private insurance industry.

No? Well, then let's stop saying that government health care is the great Satan and look towards providing it for everyone who wants it.

Hey Dude. There's a big chasm between supporting what MoveOn wants and what Richard Burr wants.

I appreciate her being a moderate between both spectrums of bonafide WingNuts.

This will be a great test to see if Hagan has a spine. She can do what is best for the American People or give in to left-wing lunacy.

I hope she will support Senator Burr's Patients Choice Act that leaves the government out of healthcare and will provide for high quality care and lower costs.

Thank goodness George Soros is prepared to run ads against my Senator for being a moderate. Thank Gawd Burr aint.

In her defense, ACORN did it, and I'll defer to my Argentinian spokeswoman for questions.

MoveOn.org, the liberal advocacy group, is threatening to run ads against North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan if she does not support President Barack Obama’s health care plan.

Justin Ruben, executive director of MoveOn.org said the group was prepared to “run ads in North Carolina and DC asking that she advocate for the public option and support the president in truly solving the nation’s health care crisis,” Rob Christensen reports

“Given recent comments showing that Senator Hagan is not supporting the public health insurance option, MoveOn.org will be making clear that our 115,000 members in North Carolina -- many of whom volunteered for or donated to her campaign last year -- believe the public option is the heart of true health care reform,” Ruben said in a statement.

Hagan expressed reservations about a federally run insurance program that would harm the private insurance market. She told reporters in Charlotte Friday that she had not taken “a public option off the table.”

MoveOn.org was formed in 1998 to influence the national debate. It was a major opponent of U.S. involvement in Iraq. The group has raised millions of dollars for Democratic candidates.
