Does Sanford's trist in Argentina disprove the old saw that Republicans aren't that popular with Hispanics?

That was my first thought when reading the SC governor story, that dumpling left right after taking office and no one seemed to know where she went. Did she transfer power???

At least most of the politicians who have been caught have been caught consorting with women from the United States.

The governor of South Carolina is taking this NAFTA business too far. It's hurts our economy and think about what is does to the fine women of South Carolina. When I could afford to travel I visited South Carolina and I found that they have some mighty fine women down there. Free trade is one thing but at least have the decency to find a girlfriend from the good ol' US of A.

We should not ship the girlfriend jobs out of the country!

The tale of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford leaving the state and not saying where he was going should have sounded a tiny bit familiar to Dome readers.

Gov. Beverly Perdue and First Gentleman Bob Eaves left for a few days vacation in February and refused to tell the pesky news media where she was going.

That may be about the only similarity. Unlike Sanford, Perdue: went on the trip with her spouse, told her staff where she actually was going, told her security detail and told Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton, who was officially in charge during Perdue's absence.

Perdue spokeswoman Chrissy Pearson still won't reveal the specific "somewhere warm" to which Perdue traveled but did on Thursday eliminate one possibility: "It wasn't Argentina."
