MLK4662---it's interesting that everyone else but you talks about taxes, deficits, spending---yet you are the one injecting race into the discussion. Is that because if you don't have facts to state, you have to raise an emotional issue to try to justify your position?

With the budget deficits reaching 4-5X the previous record deficit, with the Treasury weekly setting records of new bond issues to pay for his runaway spending, with unemployment continuing to hit double digits despite his record spending, with his totally ineffectual approach to IRAN and North Korea, weeksgroove I'm sure you're very proud of Team Obama's accomplishments.Unfortunately, these records of Obama are quickly bankrupting the US.Other than destroying Chrysler and Government Motors bailing out AIG and FNMA & FREDDIE which the Democrats caused to have problems by pushing mortgages to people who couldn't afford them, is there anything really positive for our economy you can point to?? I can understand why you're sick---you obviously voted for him, and now it's tough to face the truth that you made a HUGE mistake, but there's lots more with you.

Obama's policies are begining to catch up with his personality cult. Expect his polls to continue to decline. He will not be able to blame Bush much longer. He said unemployemnt would never exceed 10% and his stimulus bill was supposed to save the economy. Neither were correct.

"Obama is only trying to clean up the mess that the Republicans made."

Wrong. The mess was created by Rep Barney Frank D Mass and Chris Dodd, D Conn.when they created the ability of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to "insure" 3 trillion dollars in NINJA loans, over the objection of the republicans and a few responsible democrats. These NINJA loans, No Income verification, No Job verification, No Appraisal, created the mess in which we find ourselves. Twice, Bush tried to stop Fannie and Freddie from creating this horrible situation, and each time Barnie and Chris protected them. Barnie even told us last summer that these two entities were perfectly safe. Yes, the republicans deficits didn't help, but their deficits pale in comparison to the democrats. Blaming the republicans for the property boom and bust is nonsensical. Sorry.

Presidebt Obama is the smartest President we ever had. He is looking toward the future trying to help this country. Anyone who believes otherwise is just having a hard time adjusting to the fact that Present Obama is of mixed heritage and not the usual white face they are accustomed to seeing. Your ex-president Bush put our children/grandchildren at risk. President Obama is simply trying to help all Americans - not just the fat rich white cats!

I am shocked that many people believe that Obama is putting our country into jeopardy and causing "our children and grandchildren" to be in debt. That is absolutely incorrect. George Bush Jr. did all of that. All of the socioeconomic issues and issues dealing with other countries resulted from 8 years of ignorance and "bullying" by our former president. Obama is only trying to clean up the mess that the Republicans made. Obama is building positive alliances with other countries and he is trying to clean up the debt situation that Bush and his administration left behind. All of you people who talk against Obama need to wake up and get a clue...you are only mad because he is not a 100% white man running this country. And who in the hell took the NC poll to begin with. I surely don't remember being polled and I am sure that many people who voted the RIGHT way last November 2008 (for OBAMA) don't remember either.

weeksgroove posts: "Obama has done more for this country and our planet than any other political figure in my history... and he is only in his first year... It's dissapointing to see that non-thinkers are still running their mouths as if they are the truth. There is not 1 ounce of truth or fact in your argument...its sickening."

I'm scanning your post, weeksgroove, and having a tough time finding the facts you seem to demand from others. "More than any other political figure in my history" is going to be a little tough to justify (I guess Stalin wasn't in your lifetime, otherwise your gushing praise would be in jeopardy). Your post borders on the irrational, yet you resort to calling others "non-thinkers"?

Since you are such an intellectual, weeksgroove, perhaps you like puzzles. Can you count the number of times you resort to silly name-calling in your previous post? Hint: more than in any of the other posts so far.

If by changing the face of this country for the better you mean a socialistic government, then I guess that is what you voted for. I did not. I do not like the idea of this country moving further and further from the Republic that it was intended to be, and stayed as, until Abraham Lincoln decided that economic issues trumped state's rights.
And before you go off the deep end which I am sure is coming, the Civil War was never about slavery, it was about economics. The fact that slaves were freed was a wonderful thing indeed, but not the reason behind the war. And before you go bashing the Constitution on that point as well, most of the Founding Fathers wanted slavery abolished and the Constitution was meant for ALL people to be free and have the same unalienable rights. But SC refused to sign, and because of them, a few other states as well unless the wording was changed to not include black slaves.
Back to the point, Obama is doing a lot to this country, you are correct. He is putting our children and grandchildren into a debt that cannot be recovered from, our country is no longer our own (ask the banks of China among many others), our rights are being stepped on by far too many regulations, and he is continually protecting his special supporters such as the Black Panthers that were arrested for voter intimidation. The Justice Dept. won the case, then the charges were dropped thru Raul Emannuel with no explanation. Obama then fired the Inspector General that investigated Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, who is an Obama supporter and former NBA basketball star, for the misuse of federal grants by a nonprofit education group that Johnson headed. He and the nonprofit group were going to pay back some of the $850,000, a number they agreed to, but that does not appear to be happening anymore. If there was no wrongdoing why agree to a settlement in the first place? Did Obama have the IG fired and the case dismissed because of the connections of his wife Michelle to AmeriCorps? These are all things that would be splattered across every paper and news media in the country if he were not Barack Obama.
These are but a few of the many examples of Obama's changes. If this is what you want for your children, grandchildren, more power to you.
This is not what I want for mine, and many more are seeming to agree everyday.
You of course are as welcome to post your opinions as I am mine, if you sway anyone kudos to you. But I am sure your opinions would hold more weight if you could back them up with real examples that can be confirmed without the name calling and condemnation. Come up with the real examples that can be verified.

"slightly??? i've talked to previous supporters who apologized profusely, "We didn't know!""

I am not apologizing for someone who is changing the face of this country for the better and neither is anyone else who actually pays attention.

lochniall, you must be speaking of our last president. Seriously, your ignorance is amazing and your fearmongering on par with Faux news.

President Barack Obama’s popularity is slipping in North Carolina as the unemployment numbers continue to climb.

Obama’s approval rating is at 50 percent, down from a high of 54 percent in April, according to a new statewide survey by Public Policy Polling, a Democratic-leaning firm in Raleigh, reports Rob Christensen.

Although Obama's approval numbers are in decline, they are still higher than North Carolina’s two senators or governor, as well as those of former President George W. Bush.

Obama has the highest support in urban areas such as the Triangle, Charlotte, and in the northeastern part of the state. He is very popular among African-Americans.

His weakest support is in the mountains.

Obama surprised many people by carrying North Carolina -- a traditionally Republican-leaning state in presidential contests -- by a narrow margin in November.

The survey of 784 registered voters was taken June 12-14 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
