Governor Perdue, I would like you to meet former President George W. Bush as you both have similar approval ratings. Maybe you can commiserate together.

Curious that the N&O does not have this article on the front of its web page but the Charlotte Observer does. I guess the N&O doesn't think this is news.

Below is a great comment in response to the article: (you will see that Beverly was certainly a key member of the controlling part of the NC Democratic party that includes Easley, Basnight, Black, etc.)

I'm a Democrat and see so much irony in this story. (1) That she has declined in popularity with teachers and state employees. These were two of her largest groups of support. I guess they are kicking themselves for not electing the guy who did such a good job with their pensions. Smart move to follow their mindless interest group leaders (NCAE and NC Sherriff Police Alliance). (2) Perdue has lost support in her own party. It was largely the Democratic apparatus (like Mark Basnight and the Black Political Caucus) that got her elected. Richard Moore was seen by the powers that be to have stepped out of line and the party made him pay for it. I fear we are going to regret this one.

I thought her name was PurrDumb? And we aren't giving any of these politicians a break! She did not appear out of nowhere! She's in the Tax-and-Spend-more-than-you-got Party too! You could have said the same thing for Sl'easley when he took office. Hunt left him a huge budget deficit too. I believe it was a 1.5 Billion dollar deficit. What did sl'easley do? Add an additional 1/2 Billion dollars in debt for another worthless and a failure of a program called, "More-Before-Four."

Again, cut the Social WelFraud Programs.

I'll never cut an opponent any slack in today's political arena ..... but Bev inherited a royal mess from Mikey. Lots of very tough decisions to make for which a doltish public will hold her liable.

Democ politicos promise their leeming everything then suffer when reality hits the lemming.
