BJ Lawson is my candidate and has been for 1.5 years. The "traditional Republican Party", in which I am a precinct chairman, needs new blood, new clarity of principles, new energy, conservative Libertarians, thinkers, doers and concerned citizens. The US is in a major battle of minds right now. And the socialists are winning at the polls. Terrible Mistake by BJ. He should walk away from the Republican Party and start a whole new movement toward real freedom with the real folks or Patriots. The Ron Paul liberty revolution is over, since Glenn Beck and the Neo-con Fox network have stoled it with the phony Tea party movement. 37 % is not a massive impressive number in that district. My dog would get that number without spending a dime, nor a day campaigning....The best thing BJ could do is preside over the funeral of Republican Conservatism or move to Costa Rica.......Waste of time and real money.......Change or false hope is no friend to Republicans or reality in that district.......Buy Gold and kiss the Republic good bye and the Republican Party

DURHAM — Republicans are lining up to challenge Democratic Congressman David Price next year.

B.J. Lawson, a Cary businessman and former physician, who lost to Price in November said he plans to launch another bid, Rob Christensen reports.

Lawson, who said he will formally announce his candidacy on his website next week, said that his 37 percent showing was strong considering the Democratic-leaning district. He said one of the problems in defeating Price, is that the Republicans put up a different opponent every two years.

But Lawson will likely have competition in a GOP primary.

Frank Roche, 46, a semi-retired financial industry executive from Apex, said he plans to run as well.

He said he hoped to win over support of more traditional conservatives, who may not be comfortable with some of Lawson’s more Libertarian leanings.

Both attended a luncheon of the Durham County Republican Women on Tuesday at the Hope Valley Country Club.
