those are the folks who have really messed up w/ poor reporting, financial problems, etc

If you want to get rid of racisms then get rid of organizations that identify themselves as black, Latino, Asian, etc. What would happen if someone started a N.C. Legislative White Caucus Foundation? All this does is lead to extortion by the members to receive “donations.”

Answer:

A nonprofit run by the N.C. Legislative Black Caucus, a group of black lawmakers.

It raises money to hold an annual conference, send members to a national convention and give scholarships to students attending historically black colleges. It also raised money for Hurricane Katrina victims in 2005.

The caucus created the foundation in 1992 in order to accept contributions from political action committees and other special interests without reporting them to the State Board of Elections.

The Legislative Black Caucus was formally organized in 1983 and became a registered nonprofit in 1986. The foundation is a separate 501(c)(3), but its leadership often overlaps with the caucus, and legislative assistants to caucus members work for it.

Over the years, the group has lobbied to abolish the death penalty, raise the minimum wage and fund new construction at historically black colleges.
