That's the way NC democrats have always monopolized this state's government through the political machine they control now and have controlled for decades. Don't let that slow southern drawl fool you. These good ole' boys and girls are slicker than snot on a door knob. Chicago, Illinois and/or New Orleans ain't got nothing on us, when it comes to corruption and back room deals. Nothing new here, as far as connections and methods go. Look at the way they get legislation and projects passed on through. Reference: The "Education" Lottery. Only the names and faces change. The new crooks move in as the old crooks die off.

You praise the son's of G Bush Sr. and the jobs he got them but you get all nasty when this young man gets to work with one of our states best Governors. I bet this kid can chew a pretzel without choking.

Gov. Beverly Perdue's son will work as a Washington lobbyist.

Garrett Perdue has joined Womble Carlyle, the state's largest law firm and home to former Gov. Jim Hunt among other prominent Democrats.

Perdue worked for two years in commercial real estate with Jones Lange LaSalle before joining his mother's gubernatorial campaign full time. He was often by her side in a dark suit at campaign events last year.

He previously worked as an associate with Womble Carlyle.

According to the firm, Perdue will work with Hunt and others on economic development and government relations strategy in the Raleigh and Washington, D.C., offices.

Other new hires at the firm include former Ohio Rep. Deborah Pryce, longtime lobbyists Harry Katrichis, Lori Salley and Vicki Hicks.

Update: "While he'll have an office in Raleigh and will be working with Governor Hunt, he won't be doing any lobbying in Raleigh," said spokesman Russell Thomas.
