She wants first hand knowledge? Really? Then let's hold another election without the Obama coat-tails and help her towards that first-hand knowledge.

I want to know how she does not know what the ESC does after years as a State Senator and Lt. Governer. This displays how out of touch she is and problably a lot of other politicians.

A majority of the current bloated corpse "stimulus bill"'s jobs creation will not happen until year 3 and 4. And most of it goes as payback to unions and far left wing (totalitarian) interest groups.

"the second of her promised surprise visits to state agencies and facilities"? I thought she had dropped in at Cherry and also at the DOT during the snow prep and maybe at least one other agency previously?

Uh, ESC is NOT just there for collecting unemployment. It is also a job service.

Anyone can look for a job at the ESC office whether they have ever worked, are working or recently unemployed. Just because they are at the ESC office does not mean that they are filing for unemployment benefits. Just because one files for unemployment insurance does not mean he/she will receive benefits. Yes, one has to have worked and lost his/her job due to not fault of their own to receive unemployment insurance benefits.

Gov. Beverly Perdue dropped by a Raleigh office of the Employment Security Commission Friday afternoon, the latest of her promised surprise visits to state agencies and facilities.

The parking lot at the office on Carl Sandburg Court was full and the line was lengthy at 2:30 p.m., when Perdue showed up, according to spokeswoman Chrissy Pearson. (Dome has repeatedly asked to accompany Perdue on a surprise visit but hasn't been permitted.)

Perdue talked to state workers about their role in helping the unemployed find jobs and to the unemployed North Carolinians waiting in line about their situation and about the service they were receiving.

Some job seekers in the waiting room asked to tell their stories to Perdue privately and she met with them in a nearby room. Some had just lost their jobs because of the recession, while others never had one, Pearson said.

"She found out a lot about what the center does," Pearson said. "She wants that first-hand knowledge."
