Dang, FloyTurbo, I don't hate the guy. I didn't think my observation about Dubya was anything out of the ordinary, did you? Since when does stating the obvious tag a person as "raging?"

I was there, and she also called Beth Wood "Beth Woods," directed the audience the Food Bank was to our right when it was too our left, and she was trying hard to talk almost regally, and it sounded like a horrible Southern accent impersonation.

Very disappointing and embarrassing, especially when she said things like, "my good friend...Joe HACKLEY."

Er . . . I don't think Bush's problems with pronunciation were what bothered folks most about his presidency. You might want to think a little harder about it. (Clue: His inability to "think a little harder" might have something to do with our national humiliation.)

And Bush said "nucular" and the Dems wanted to impeach him .... Eva Clayton wasn't elected because of her command of the language.

U.S. Rep. Eva Clayton is getting her tongue-twisted.

She started to call House Speaker Joe Hackney "senator" then corrected herself, but got his last name something closer to "Hackley."

Then she called the governor-elect "Everly" and corrected herself on that one too.

A little later, Clayton made amends for her earlier error in pronouncing the first gentleman's last name.

"I made an awful error. I didn't acknowledge the power behind the power — Bob Eaves," she said, pronouncing it correctly this time.

Then, she introduced Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry (pronounced "sha-ree") as "Cherry Berry" and Supreme Court Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson as Patricia "Timmason" Goodson, Treasurer Janet Cowell as Janet "Caldwell" and featured singer Caitlin Cary as "Cathlin."

Finally, horror of horrors, she pronounced Andy Griffith's name as "Andy Griffin."
