Rep. Thomas Wright's latest campaign finance report is overdue.
The report, detailing contributions and expenditures for the second quarter of 2007, is supposed to arrive at the State Board of Elections postmarked no later than July 27.
The Wilmington Star-News reports that Wright turned in a late report in 2004. That means he could face a fine of up to $50 a day, or as much as $500, if this report is late, since the board typically waives first offenses.
"We will certainly be contacting him and telling him his report is delinquent if it doesn't show up soon," elections director Gary Bartlett told the newspaper.
Wright still faces a possible ethics hearing with a joint legislative committee and a criminal investigation over campaign contributions.
