It's not unusual to postpone a vote, but three times is a bad sign.
A bill to allow North Carolinians to register to vote the weekend before an election passed the House in late March and made it through a Senate committee.
It was then put on the calendar for a full vote on June 5. At the last minute, Senate Majority Leader Tony Rand put it on the June 6 schedule instead. Then, he pulled it again, slating it for today.
A few minutes ago, Rand rescheduled it for Wednesday's session.
Some Republicans oppose the bill, arguing that it could lead to voter fraud. But Democrats control the Senate, so if there's trouble behind the scenes, it involves them as well.
