State Sen. Robert Pittenger may run for higher office in 2008.

The Charlotte Observer reports that the Mecklenburg County Republican has been airing issue ads on television in Charlotte and Greensboro. Now he's hosting an event to review them.

Pittenger has been mentioned as a candidate for governor in 2008 and for Congress, though a dust-up with fellow Republican Sue Myrick, who says she is running for re-election, has thrown some cold water on the idea of a congressional run.
