Perdue: The pre-candidate

Beverly Perdue will announce this fall.

Yesterday, we at Dome noted that the lieutenant governor is the last of the long-expected candidates to officially say that she's running for governor.

We tracked down a member of her non-campaign, finance director Peter Reichard. In an e-mail to Dome, he had this to say:

"The support and encouragement Lt. Governor Perdue has received from throughout the state has been overwhelming, and she plans to make a formal announcement about the governor's race in the Fall."

Perdue is now, officially, a pre-candidate.
