Orr Force One

Bob Orr is campaigning in a pickup.

The former Supreme Court justice, who is running for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, notes on his blog that his extended cab two-wheel-drive Toyota Tundra "will not take a backseat to any vehicle."

He calls the truck "Orr Force One."

Orr notes he bought the truck from Fred Anderson Toyota in Raleigh in 2004 for $22,000, although recent tax records show it's now worth less than $18,000. Still, he says it works great:

We have resisted the urge to retro fit this campaign essential because the lovely gray cloth seats are extremely comfortable and the back seat can either hold two short legged staffers or if the seat is folded up, two full sets of golf clubs. While we have contemplated placing a card table and rocking chair in the bed of the truck, we are not sure that this would meet current safety standards.

According to records, Orr also owns a 2005 Lexus and a 2000 Buick.
