State Rep. Mary McAllister failed to disclose on a required ethics form that she is a board member of a church-based foundation that receives state funding, The Fayetteville Observer reported today.
McAllister, a Cumberland County Democrat, is a director of the Mount Sinai Foundation, a nonprofit group connected to Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Fayetteville. McAllister's attorney told the paper that the lawmaker would correct her ethics form.
McAllister is facing hearings before the State Board of Elections related to questions about campaign finance reports that show she has paid herself back on a loan by more than twice the amount of the loan.
McAllister has said the problems are errors.
