Richard Moore opposes the Goodyear incentives.
The state treasurer, who is running for the Democratic nomination for governor, said he supports Gov. Mike Easley's veto of a $40 million incentives package for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. to stay in Fayetteville.
In an e-mail to Dome, his campaign manager, Jay Reiff, said that Moore told him "the governor is right to be concerned about the dangerous precedent these incentives represent."
Reiff said Moore also thinks the state should be sure that "companies live up to their word in protecting job and worker benefits."
