There will be no more nighttime and weekend lane closings for the I-40 repair job in Durham County, NCDOT engineer Eben Miller says. This should be the last online and email I-40 Worrier update.
They're still cleaning up, removing detour signs and taking care of other details. But NCDOT and Lane Construction Corp. have finished most of the $21.7 million pavement repair job on 10.4 miles of I-40 from US 15-501 at Chapel Hill to the NC 147 Durham Freeway in Research Triangle Park.
The job was scheduled to be finished in May 2008, but Lane said from the start that it would try to finish by the end of November. This year's dry weather helped speed the work.
