Critics have questioned a poll on the gubernatorial race.
Some Dome readers complained that the newly created North Carolina Poll run by Democratic consultant Brad Crone and Republican consultant Chris Sinclair was biased because of Crone's other work.
Crone confirmed that he is in talks with Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue's campaign to do consulting work for her run for the Democratic nomination for governor next year. He said they'll likely make a decision on a contract after September.
In addition, Crone has contributed $4,000 to Perdue's campaign, the maximum allowed by an individual for a state candidate.
The poll had shown Perdue with a slim lead over rival Democrat Treasurer Richard Moore, but still close to the margin of error. Crone argued that the methodology was sound.
"I'd be more than happy to share all the data with anybody who wants to see it," he said.

Re: Is Crone's poll biased?
Crone and Sinclair have a history together with push polling and stealth campaigning. I wouldn't trust their poll if they gave it away.
