High Noon at High Point

The GOP gubernatorial candidates will face off in High Point Saturday.

The three candidates — Salisbury attorney Bill Graham, former Supreme Court Justice Bob Orr and state Sen. Fred Smith — will debate each other at High Point University.

The debate will be moderated by John Hood, president of the John Locke Foundation.

The event, which starts at 2 p.m. in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center, is free and open to the public.

Dome will be blogging the, um, high points of the debate tomorrow.

Re: High Noon at High Point

Pick another city next time. High rates in this one are a result of ElectriCities and Jesse Tilton just like where I am. I hope one of these guys will tackle utility issues, increasing taxation, and cities intruuding on people's lives - annexation, easements, eminent domain and definite for electric cities - electric. Cities need to be curbed. Talk about this candidates. Our state is becoming a city hungry sea of over development which affects the dire drought conditions as well. We need a Governor to step up and address these issues.
