The N.C. Republican Party called for Rep. Thomas Wright to resign.

But in a press release issued today, chairwoman Linda Daves spent more time taking House Speaker Joe Hackney to task for not asking Wright to resign in the face of "overwhelming evidence":

"Your failing in doing what you know is the right thing to do for North Carolina shows a failure of leadership on your part and of the Democratic Party as a whole. I again call you to do the right thing—ask for Rep. Thomas Wright to resign now."
