Salisbury attorney Bill Graham has released a poll showing him leading the GOP field for governor next year.
The survey shows Graham with 21 percent, state Sen. Fred Smith with 9 percent, former N.C. Supreme Court Justice Bob Orr with 6 percent, reports Rob Christensen. The vast majority, 65 percent, were undecided.
The Graham campaign credited their grassroots campaign, in which college students have been knocking on Republican doors this summer.
The survey of 500 likely Republican primary voters was conducted July 24 and 26 by McLaughlin & Associates. The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
