A piece of the road for Thornburg

There will always be a piece of the mountains named for U.S. District Court Judge Lacy Thornburg.

The state Department of Transportation recently dedicated an 8.4-mile stretch of U.S. 23/74 in Jackson County for Thornburg, Rob Christensen reports.

Thornburg, a Sylva native, was a two-term state attorney general. He ran for governor in 1992, losing in the Democratic primary to Jim Hunt.

Why honor a corrupt man?

Thornburg was a horrible jurist that never contributed anything to society.
